Projects > CAP 2009

1. Overview

CAP is an open-source portlets and standalone client to utilize the GOS maps and data services to support Earth and geography science communities through the partnership of George Mason University's joint Center for Intelligent Spatial Computing, the Federation of Earth Science Information Partnership (ESIP), and the Cyberinfrastructure Specialty Group (CISG) within the American Association of Geographers (AAG).

This project is trying to accelerate access to GOS-registered resources using most interfacing standards including 1) OGC Catalog Service for the Web (CSW) FGDC Profile, ebRIM Profile, and Version 2.0.2 'baseline', and OGC Catalog Service Version 2.0.2, Z39.50 Profile for developing catalog access, 2) FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata, Version 2.0 for complying with NSDI clearinghouse and metadata content standards, 3) North American Profile (Draft), ISO 19115 Metadata for Air Quality and Water Management, 4) Web Map Service ( WMS) and Web Feature Service (WFS), Web Coverage Service (WCS) to access data and maps services provided through the three standards.

2. Activities
